Scripture: Matthew 1:20-21
But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do no be afraid.
- Do not be afraid.
- Jesus saves people from their sins; he also gives peace.
- Jesus tells us not to let our hearts be troubled, and to not be afraid. Unfortunately during the Christmas seasons it’s easy to let our hearts be troubled by family, or circumstances. But we don’t have to succumb
Heavenly Father, I love the Christmas season. You know that. But sometimes we have one idea of what the “perfect Christmas” should be and it’s not reality. We’ve already have the perfect Christmas — the very first one. If we set our eyes upon Jesus, and don’t focus on the “stuff,” we can have the peace that You give, and we don’t have to be afraid. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
