30 Days of Thanks: November 10, 2013

Today, I’m thankful for plenty of food and nourishment.

Our “Sunday routine” includes going to church, Cracker Barrel and grocery shopping. Today, at Wal-Mart we picked up the items needed to provide a Thanksgiving meal to a family in need through our church. Even though we’ve done this for the past 3 years (and even delivered baskets last year), and mom and I once volunteered on Thanksgiving to provide meals through Waterfront Mission, it was  humbling and eye-opening to remember that as we look forward to stuffing our faces with two Thanksgiving feasts, many people will wonder how they will feed their child (much less themselves) that day — or any day.
