Review: Ayres Hotel Manhattan Beach {California}

A couple of weeks ago, I traveled to Los Angeles for business meetings. During previous trips to LA, I’ve stayed at a Westin and a Marriott. This time I was treated to a stay at the Ayres Hotel in Manhattan Beach.

This hotel definitely has charm. The front desk staff is very friendly, and you walk into a lobby that has a beautiful fireplace. I’m a sucker for fireplaces.

The rooms are spacious, and the beds are very comfortable.

The T.V. was in this armoire. There was also a small closet (not pictured).

The bathroom was OK. It had a small shower.

Each morning, the hotel had a free continental breakfast that had everything from the standard cold cereal, to muffins and bagels, to scrambled eggs and bacon or sausage, to fruit, to pancakes and belgian waffles. There was coffee, tea, water and a variety of juices available.

This hotel was in Manhattan Beach, but I also had the opportunity to visit Playa del Ray for dinner. One of my managers owns a house there, and has a great rooftop deck. Here’s the view we enjoyed before dinner.

After a day full of meetings in a hotel conference room, it was nice to enjoy the cool California weather and enjoy the sunset.
