The inside of the restaurant had a very tropical, relaxed feel.
We started our meal with French pull-apart bread that was served with cinnamon + nutmeg butter.
The bread was delicious, but I wasn’t a fan of the butter. David said it grew on him, but we both agreed we prefer plain butter.
For my entree, I chose blackened fish tacos, which were topped with tomato relish, chipotle aioli, lime sour cream and Asian slaw. The tacos had a distinct taste, in a good way. Delicious. I didn’t touch the platains though.
While I thoroughly enjoyed my tacos, I have to admit that David ordered better than me (which never happens!). He ordered that day’s lunch special: rosemary encrusted chicken breast, parmesan risotto and sauteed spinach. The risotto made the dish — it was fantastic.
Overall, our lunch was great. The service was just OK, but the food was delicious. I’m glad we had the gift card, though, because the restaurant is a bit pricey.
We also went to see The Nutcracker (put on by the Northwest Florida Ballet) this weekend! I was in this show for about 8 years, so it’s still a little weird to be in the audience but I really enjoyed it. Great way to kick off the holiday season!
Now we just have to finish decorating our house. 🙂
