After balancing my work obligations, finishing up wedding preparations and attending wedding-related events, by Wednesday I was ready for some girl time! I was so glad that my MOH Whitney was able to get into town early so we could spend part of Wednesday catching up. We went to Hard Rock Cafe in Destin and did some window shopping in Destin Commons. It was nice to have some non-work and non-wedding planning time for us to talk — we hadn’t seen each other forever!
In the afternoon, Whitney and I met David and his mom at the Emerald Grande for our final meeting and walk-through. They were in the midst of prepping for a weekend full of weddings but we were able to finalize all of the details, including the layout of the ballroom, and drop off items like our cake cutting set, toasting glasses, cake stand and cake take-home boxes.
Later, David’s mom, MOH Whitney, BM Melody and I had our mani/pedi appointment. For our fingernails, we chose a light pink color that fit our wedding color palette:
For our toes, though, we went with a brighter color — I was going to the Bahamas for the honeymoon after all!
It was fun to relax and get pampered with my future MIL and two of my best friends! And, of course, the ladies at the nail salon loved talking with us about the wedding. One of the ladies had just recently gotten married herself and was giving me advice and telling us stories about her wedding day.
That night, Whitney’s parents took me out to dinner at High Tide — the same place we often went when they would come down to Fort Walton after they moved to Georgia. After throwing that great shower, it was awesome of them to take me out for a nice dinner, too. I really am blessed to know such wonderful people.
More to come…
